The Toyota NZ engine family is a series of inline four-cylinder piston engines. The 1NZ series uses an aluminum engine block and double bonnet cylinder heads. It features 4 valves per cylinder with VVT-i technology and sequential fuel injection.
The 1NZ-FE is a 1.5 L (1497 cc) conventional Otto cycle variant of the 1NZ-FXE with VVT-i. It has the same drill and stroke, but the pressure ratio has been reduced to 10.5: 1. Power output is 81.2 kW (109 hp) at 6000 rpm with 141 Nm (103 lb · ft) of torque at 4200 rpm. The red line is at 6400 rpm.
