ENGINE REPLACEMENT GUIDELINES
  • Begin by replacing the engine oil, fuel filter, antifreeze, and oil filter.
  • If present, replace the engine oil cooler or any external coolers.
  • Conduct a thorough cleaning of the cooling system.
  • Proceed with replacing the water pump.
  • Update hoses and belts as necessary.
  • Replace the timing belt.
  • Proceed to install new spark plugs and wires.
  • Examine and replace any necessary gaskets and seals, including those on the oil pan, both front and rear main seals, and valve cover gaskets.
  • Before installation, clear all computer codes from the vehicle.
  • Ensure that the replacement engine matches the specifications of the one being replaced.
  • Transfer accessory components such as exhaust manifolds, mounts, distributor, and sensors from the old engine.
  • Before starting the engine, disable the fuel and ignition systems to enable oil priming.
  • Ensure all plugs and tape are removed from the engine prior to installation.
