Verify a Supplier

Check if an engine supplier is part of the Engine Finder network before you pay.

How to Protect Yourself

1

Only deal with suppliers who contacted you through Engine Finder

After you submit an enquiry, our network suppliers will contact you directly. If someone reaches out claiming to have your engine but you didn't receive their quote through us, be cautious.

2

Never pay into a personal bank account

Legitimate suppliers use business bank accounts. If someone asks you to pay via EFT into a personal account or via e-wallet, it's likely a scam.

3

Check their Engine Finder profile

Every supplier in our network has a public profile page with their address, phone number, ratings, and vehicle makes they work with. No profile = not verified.

4

If the price is too good to be true, it probably is

Scammers often quote prices 40-60% below market value to lure victims. Compare quotes from multiple suppliers before committing.

5

Use TradeSafe escrow for remote purchases

Can't inspect the engine in person? Use TradeSafe — your payment is held safely until you receive and approve the engine. The seller only gets paid once you're happy.
